Let the Hiatus Begin! We'll Be Back.
Let me first start by saying thank you.
Thank you to each and every one of you who has invited me and this show into your earbuds, your speaker phones, and your car radios. I’ve always reflected that of the most beautiful parts of podcasting is the ability for you and I to build candor we can’t anywhere else. When I put together an episode and release it for you, I do it with a mighty awareness that it may just be you and I in your car together as you absorb this content. So much care goes into making sure I’m serving you during that time - during those minutes or hours you spend with me learning about new curiosities. That’s time in your life you chose to share with this show, learning about new things and new people, and I work to make sure not a second of it is wasted.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to connect with you, and to connect you with new ideas and people.
When I started this podcast, I couldn’t sit with the reality that I was the only one feeling restless with my current state but also paralyzed by a combination of infinite possibilities for change and finite time. I didn’t know if there was a community out there for me, but this was a curiosity I couldn’t look away from. I was certain I’d be speaking to an audience of one (heya, mom!) but the thrill of cultivating even my own curiosity had me pulling countless all-nighters to make this dream a reality.
Fast forward to today. Old Me couldn’t have been more wrong.
5,000+ listens later, you are still tuning in and joining me week after week to explore new ideas and new curiosities. I’ve watched in awe - and to be honest, shock - as our curious community grew from America to Canada to Brazil to Spain to Nigeria to Thailand to Sri Lanka to Israel to Australia to India to Japan… you’ve joined me from 30+ countries and 6 continents to learn about the lives and joys of people on the other side of the world from you, and I couldn’t be happier to connect you to their story.
We are a curious people, us Cultivaters. It didn’t take this show for that to be a reality, but I hope this show has allowed you more space in your life - or even in your own mind - for curiosity to take root. My goal from the first episode was to help just one person find peace in the unknown and embrace new possibilities that have always been there if we just listen for them. It’s overwhelming in the best way to have spoken with some of you who reached this point and beyond in your curiosity journey.
My goals for Cultivate Curiosity are changing, and I want to lean into this opportunity to bring about more value with what comes next. This project means so much to me - and that meaning has grown so deeply now that it has resonated with you in some way, too. As I pause with Cultivate Curiosity today, I’m extremely excited for what’s to come.
The next time you’ll hear from me here, know I’ll be coming back with the same focus in mind - every second of your time spent with this show will be will be handled with great care. Coming back with me will be new goals, deeper dives, new heights, and more. I can’t wait for that day.
Until then, don’t forget to stay curious!
Coming Soon: Cultivate Curiosity Podcast
It all begins with an idea.
Coming March 2018, Cultivate Curiosity is the best new podcast coming straight to you. A show groomed specifically for folks who haven’t found their passions quite yet.
Some of us may never find our passions, and prior to this podcast we may have spent our lives in pursuit of a dream we couldn’t put our finger on. Rest wouldn’t have come for us until we found crystal clear answers to the question of what we were put on this planet to do.
Not now. You may not have the answers or have everything figured out - who does, really? - but your time is still meant to be spent enjoying the fleeting interests and curious moments that come your way.
The list of possibilities to pique your curiosity is infinite — but that doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t try to overturn every stone. You won’t find the perfect match every time but seeking perfect matches is not the point. Sometimes, allowing your mind 10 minutes to be exposed to something new is all it takes. If you don’t give your heart and soul the opportunity to explore something new, how are you ever supposed to grow?
Do you have to be the best in the room to pursue something? Do you have to pursue something for your interest in it to be valid? The answer to both questions is a flat-out no. We don’t even need to know if the thing we invested so much of our life to is the thing we’re meant to continue with, and we should be comfortable in that uncertainty.
There is so much to learn about, literally, everything. It’s impossible to uncover it all in a lifetime but here at Cultivate Curiosity, we’re sure going to try.
Each episode, we’ll dive into new interests and topics with eager ears and open minds. As we meet guests from around the world living out their curiosities and passions, we will have the opportunity to open the door into their world just enough to get a taste of something new. Hopefully along the way, planting seeds of curiosity in each of us, too.
Subscribe to Cultivate Curiosity on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts, and remember to stay curious.
